International Market of Entrepreneurial Ideas

The International Market of Entrepreneurial Ideas is a prestigious event organized by the University of Donja Gorica with the aim of promoting entrepreneurship, innovation, and creativity among young people. The Exchange is traditionally held every year on May 9th, Europe Day, and represents one of the most significant platforms for connecting talented young individuals with investors, companies, and academic institutions.

How Does the Exchange Work?

The Market of Entrepreneurial Ideas operates on an auction-based system, where young innovators have the opportunity to present their business ideas in front of representatives from the business and investment sectors. Through a selection process, the 11 best ideas are chosen for official presentations. After the authors present their concepts, investors can bid for the right to exclusive negotiations with them.

In addition to the main presentations, all other ideas are published in a special publication called the "Book of Ideas", which is available to all investors. This ensures that even those ideas that are not among the top 11 still have a chance to be recognized and supported by interested investors and entrepreneurs.

Who Can Participate and What Kind of Ideas Can Be Submitted?

The Exchange is open to all young people—high school and university students from Montenegro, the region, and beyond—who have innovative business ideas with potential for growth and market success. Ideas can come from various fields.

A good entrepreneurial idea should be innovative, feasible, and have clear market potential. Additionally, it should bring improvement or solve a specific problem. Participants do not need to have a fully developed product, but their idea must be well-structured and have a clear plan for implementation.

Significance and Achievements of the Exchange

Over the past years, more than 1,300 ideas from 22 countries have been presented at the Exchange of Entrepreneurial Ideas, with nearly €200,000 invested in the business concepts of young individuals. This event has been recognized as one of the key drivers of entrepreneurial culture in the region and beyond.A particularly prestigious recognition came in 2024 when the Market of Entrepreneurial Ideas won the European Enterprise Promotion Award (EEPA), awarded by the European Commission. This award recognized the Exchange as the best project for promoting youth entrepreneurship in Montenegro and one of the best in Europe.
